Getting Started

How do I sign up for Not Soo Breaking News?

You can sign up using Sign in with Apple for maximum privacy, or with your email address. All new users get a 90-day free trial with full access to all features.

When do I receive daily news?

News is delivered daily at 6:00 AM IST. Make sure to enable notifications to get your morning news alert.

How do I change the language to Hindi?

Go to Settings and select "हिंदी" (Hindi) from the language options. All articles will be displayed in Hindi.

What is Deep Dive?

Deep Dive lets you chat with our smart bot to explore any article in depth. Ask questions, get context, and understand the story better. Think of it as having a knowledgeable friend explain the news to you.

How does Fact Check work?

Our Fact Check bot helps you verify claims and check facts using AI-powered analysis with web grounding. Simply enter any claim or statement, and the bot will research and provide you with verification.

What is TL;DR mode?

TL;DR (Too Long; Didn't Read) mode shows quick summaries of all articles. Toggle it on from the top of the feed when you're short on time.

Subscriptions & Billing

What happens after the 90-day free trial?

After the trial, you can continue with free access to 25% of daily articles, or subscribe to Lite (₹29/month), Basic (₹99/month), or Pro (₹199/month) plans for full access.

What's the difference between subscription plans?

All plans include full access to daily news. The difference is in premium features:

  • Lite: 1 Deep Dive & 1 Fact Check per month
  • Basic: 10 Deep Dives & 5 Fact Checks per month
  • Pro: 20 Deep Dives & 10 Fact Checks per month

How do I cancel my subscription?

For iOS: Go to Settings → Your Name → Subscriptions → Not Soo Breaking News → Cancel Subscription. You'll retain access until the end of your billing period.

How do I restore my purchases on a new device?

Sign in with the same Apple ID or email account. Your subscription will automatically restore. You can also tap "Restore Purchases" in the subscription screen.

Troubleshooting

The app isn't loading articles

1. Check your internet connection
2. Try pulling down to refresh the feed
3. Force close and restart the app
4. Make sure you're running the latest version

I'm not receiving daily notifications

Go to iPhone Settings → Notifications → Not Soo Breaking News and ensure notifications are enabled. Also check that "Scheduled Delivery" or "Focus" modes aren't blocking morning notifications.

Deep Dive or Fact Check isn't working

Check if you have remaining credits in your plan. Go to Profile to see your usage. If you have credits but it's not working, try restarting the app or contact support.

Weather isn't showing for my city

Currently, weather is available for 10 major Indian cities: Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Kolkata, Chennai, Hyderabad, Pune, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, and Kochi. More cities coming soon!

What data do you collect?

We collect minimal data: email for authentication, usage data for feature tracking (Deep Dive/Fact Check credits), and your chat conversations with our bots to improve the service. See our Privacy Policy for details.

How do I delete my account?

Email us at support@kvalabs.com with your account email. We'll delete all your data within 30 days as per DPDP Act 2023 compliance.
